Spicy Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs

There’s something undeniably comforting about a pan of sticky, sizzling chicken thighs coated in a spicy honey garlic glaze. This recipe strikes the perfect balance between sweet, savory, and spicy, making it ideal for weeknight dinners or casual get-togethers. Using bone-in, skin-on thighs ensures juicy meat and crisp golden skin, while the sauce adds a mouthwatering kick that’ll have everyone asking for seconds.
Ingredients:
6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
Fresh chopped parsley (for garnish)
Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
Prep the chicken:
Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika (if using).
Sear the chicken:
Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Place chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for 6–7 minutes, or until skin is golden and crisp. Flip and cook another 3 minutes. Remove the chicken and set aside.
Make the sauce:
Lower heat to medium. In the same skillet, sauté the garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Add honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, stirring frequently, until slightly thickened.
Combine and roast:
Return chicken thighs to the pan, skin-side up, and spoon some sauce over each piece. Transfer the skillet to a preheated 375°F (190°C) oven. Roast for 20–25 minutes, or until chicken reaches 175°F internally and juices run clear.
Finish and serve:
Remove from oven and spoon extra sauce over the chicken. Garnish with parsley and a squeeze of lemon if desired. Serve hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
