Chocolate Lava Cake is pure indulgence in every bite. A slightly crisp outer layer gives way to a rich, molten center that oozes decadent chocolate as you cut into it. It’s an impressive dessert that feels gourmet but comes together quickly in your own kitchen. Perfect for date nights, special occasions, or anytime you need a chocolate fix.
Ingredients
½ cup dark chocolate
½ cup butter
1 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
½ cup flour
Butter and cocoa powder for greasing
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease ramekins with butter, then dust lightly with cocoa powder. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler until smooth. Whisk in powdered sugar until fully incorporated, then add the eggs and egg yolks, mixing until smooth and glossy. Gently fold in flour until no streaks remain.
Pour the batter into prepared ramekins, filling each about three-quarters full. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 12–14 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still soft. Allow the cakes to rest for 1–2 minutes, then carefully run a knife around the edges and invert onto serving plates. Serve immediately, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or fresh berries.
Tips
Do not overbake — the center should remain molten.
Use high-quality chocolate for richer flavor.
Serve immediately to enjoy the lava effect.
