Beef Stroganoff is a rich, comforting dish perfect for dinner any night of the week. The combination of tender beef, earthy mushrooms, and creamy sauce makes it irresistible. Serve it over noodles or rice for a hearty, satisfying meal.
Ingredients
500g beef sirloin (thinly sliced)
1 onion (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
200g mushrooms (sliced)
1 cup beef broth
1 tsp Dijon mustard
½ cup sour cream
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
Salt and pepper
Egg noodles or rice for serving
Instructions
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, cooking until softened. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until lightly browned. Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir to coat, then slowly add beef broth while stirring to create a smooth sauce. Add Dijon mustard and season with salt and pepper.
Push the vegetables to the side and add the beef strips, cooking until browned but still tender. Reduce heat and stir in sour cream, mixing until fully incorporated and heated through. Serve immediately over cooked egg noodles or rice, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Tips
Slice beef thinly across the grain for the most tender results.
Don’t overcook beef to keep it tender and juicy.
