This is bold, cozy, and wildly satisfying—the kind of pasta that feels indulgent in the best possible way. Cajun-spiced chicken gets seared until smoky and golden, then tossed with tender pasta in a creamy, slightly spicy sauce that clings to every bite.
It’s not subtle, and that’s the point. Rich, savory, and comforting, this is the dinner you make when you want something that actually feels like a treat after a long day.

Ingredients
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced
Salt and freshly cracked black pepper
2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup chicken broth
½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
8 ounces penne or fettuccine pasta
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Optional: red pepper flakes
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain.
Season the sliced chicken with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked and nicely browned. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
Lower the heat to medium and add the butter to the same skillet. Once melted, stir in the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Add smoked paprika and red pepper flakes if using. Let the sauce simmer gently for 3 to 4 minutes until slightly thickened.
Stir in the Parmesan cheese until smooth, then add the cooked pasta and chicken back into the skillet. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time if needed to loosen the sauce.
Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
How to Serve It
This pasta is perfect on its own, but it pairs beautifully with a simple green salad or garlic bread. Leftovers reheat well and make an elite next-day lunch.
Why This Recipe Works
The Cajun seasoning brings heat and depth, the cream balances it out, and the Parmesan adds that savory finish that makes the sauce irresistible. It’s comforting, bold, and just fancy enough to feel special without being complicated.
